Preparing "garage Amnesty"

The upcoming Russia "garage Amnesty" will affect around 4 million garage, built in Soviet times. This was stated by the head of Rosreestr Victoria Abramchenko, reports gazetasi.

Registration of ownership rights is complicated by the lack of documentation for land – in this case, the register of buildings is obviously impossible.

As at the end of 2018, in Russia, there were 4 million is decorated on the rights of ownership of the garages and check their owners sought through the courts. According to experts, approximately 70% of garages are not registered.

Previously, the Ministry initiated the "garage Amnesty" similar to the "dacha Amnesty". Proposed amendments to article 123.2 and 218 part 1 of the Civil code of the Russian Federation.

According to Abramchenko, while to estimate the economic effect from the "garage Amnesty" is very difficult. She also added: after the registration of garages will be subject to taxation, accordingly, will be required to pay taxes. To register garages as real estate law has allowed since 1 January 2019.
