Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev at session of Presidium of the Council for strategic development and national projects called for to make the mortgage more affordable for the population. For this purpose, according to the Chairman of the government, to reduce interest rates on loans and to develop the market of mortgage securities, reported in a press-service of the government of Russia.

At the meeting of the Bureau was made the national project "Housing and the urban environment". The Prime Minister recalled that in the framework of the Russian President's message to the Federal Assembly each year to improve living conditions for five million Russian families.

For this, according to him, it is necessary not only to build more residential space, but also to win the trust of the population, which is often afraid to invest in real estate. Medvedev noted that with this purpose it is planned to realize four of the Federal project, which involves the development of mortgage and reduction of unfit housing and urban development .

"Often it is the savings not only individual families, but also parents, relatives. So we need to upgrade and the construction industry, to reduce the share of outdated technologies, to implement cutting edge solutions in design and materials. And, of course, to reduce the administrative burden on business", – said the Prime Minister.

Medvedev stressed that the increase in housing will have to achieve in the transition to a new model of housing Finance, which has prepared the legislative base. Also, you need to synchronize the system of banking regulation with new approaches, providing smooth financing.

During his address to the Federal Assembly on March 1, Vladimir Putin has put before Parliament a target to reduce the mortgage rate to 7-8% by 2024, while increasing the annual volume of commissioning of housing and 120 million square meters.
