Deputy Minister of construction, housing and utilities Nikita Stasyshyn said that the decline in new residential units in the country stems from the fact that in the regions lack the necessary number of prepared plots of land.

"Today we see and do not hide the decline in new projects in the construction, but we do not link this directly with escrow. There is one important factor is the presence in the regions of prepared land plots for housing construction and complex development of the territory," — said the official.

According to him, the spot for residential development should be provided with transport and engineering infrastructure.

"It's something that should give a boost to new projects in construction. Our task is to make a faster pace was the provision of engineering infrastructure to land plots. Without this, the goal established by the President on housing construction by 2024, it will be difficult to implement," — said the representative office.

Recall that, according to the national project "Housing and the urban environment" by 2024, annually in Russia should enter 120 million square meters of housing. Earlier analysts of the accounts chamber stated that in the country there is a risk of failure of the plan, which is set for 2020.

"Installed passport target value for new housing to 2020 is 98 million square metres, it is necessary to increase the commissioning of housing for 17.7 million sq m, or 22%, compared to the 2019 year. There is a risk of non-achievement of the indicator", – said the expert SP.
