More than half of housing in Russia is being built with BIM technology
Deputy head of the Ministry Dmitry Volkov said that in Russia over 50% of housing is being built using building information modeling (BIM).
"More than half is built for BIM. In Russia about 5 thousand developers in the housing area, I know of at least a dozen companies, about which I can more or less confidently say that they are serious, professional, immersion in business processes using information modeling. But it is in pieces, but in bulk it is much more because it's the largest developers in the country," the official said.
He also added that the state could not compel developers to build housing using BIM technology, however obligations may be object is to elevate the state order.
We will remind that in the end of 2019, Minister of construction and housing and communal services Vladimir Yakushev stated that the Agency may from July 2020 to oblige construction companies to use in their projects information modeling (BIM).
It is assumed that the design with the use of BIM will allow for a more accurate estimate of project cost and effectiveness of the use of funds for construction.
